My partner Robyn lost her mum on that ill-fated flight TE901.
She begged her mum not to go on the flight because she thought something may happen e.g. the wheels may fall off. One of the last things Jean said was to Robyn's cousin that she hoped Robyn was alright as she didn't want her to go on the flight.
I see to this very day the long suffering Robyn endures over losing her mum at 16 years of age & am astounded at the paltry sum she recieved as compensation for the loss of her mum's contribution towards her schooling fees. I don't mean to express compensation in monetary terms but in assisting in closure for Robyn of which there is none still to this very day.
We concur with Daves words above, Robyn also has not had any contact, apology or support from Air NZ since day one, so Dave, you are not alone in this matter.
Robyn has long expressed the desire to visit the crash site & we fully support Mike Pero's endeavour to help bring closure to family & friends. We are absolutely positive as to Mike's good intentions.
Memorials are erected with small white crosses by members of the public on our nations roads for those lost on our highways. I'm sure these sites are visited by grieving family & friends for some sense of closure. I know, a logistical nightmare, but wouldn't it be wonderful for all those family & friends that wished to do so, attend a service on the mountain to assist in the healing process?
