This is my first post.  I have always been fascinated by The Erebus Story as tragic as it was - i remember waiting at Christchurch airport on the night the flight was due back waiting for a flight to come in from Wellington and my dad speaking to a man who i believe was waiting for his daughter from the Erebus flight, i was only very young at the time but can remember it vividly and also that he said the flight was late in but didn't appear concerned.  My question that if have is i often wonder what happened to the bigger parts of the wreckage - was it removed and brought back to NZ?  I know that a piece was left there but wonder what became of the rest.
